CAN'T I JUST TAKE CARE OF MY WINDOWS BY MYSELF?

When people think of window cleaning, screen repair, inspections, and other window services, they often think of it as a luxury, or something they can do themselves (but usually neglect indefinitely anyway), and not a priority for the maintenance of their home or business. The truth is, clean, well-maintained windows and screens can contribute to a much longer useful lifespan, better performance over time, and reduced costs due to deferred maintenance. WHAT DOES WINDOW CLEANING INCLUDE?

We begin by preparing your windows to be cleaned. This involves removing the window screens, and cleaning the debris from the screens. The window wash itself involves several different phases of cleaning, allowing us to remove everything from loose dirt and stains to more persistent debris using a variety of different tools and specialized cleaning solutions. Once the dirt and grime are removed, we squeegee the glass clean, making sure it is free of dirt and streaks and looks better than the day you moved in! We'll also look over every window cleaned and let you know if we see anything out of the ordinary (like broken seals, scratches, screen damage, or other issues) and will let you know if additional maintenance or repairs may be needed.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY WINDOWS CLEANED?

We normally recommend professional window cleaning at least twice per year for most people. However, in high traffic areas, or circumstances where windows and screens have a higher level of exposure to smoke, dirt, rain, wind, animals, hard water, or other environmental factors that can cause wear and tear or lead to a dirtier window, we may recommend cleaning quarterly. This helps to prevent scratches and damage to your windows that may result in sub-optimal performance over time, and keeps your windows looking their best.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR WINDOW CLEANING?

Prior to having your windows cleaned, we recommend a few steps to help you get the most out of our visit. First, we recommend cleaning your blinds of any dust that may come into contact with your clean windows. We also recommend moving any personal belongings or fragile items away from the windows, and removing any decorations that may be hanging on or near the windows.

HOW MUCH DOES WINDOW CLEANING COST?

Window cleaning costs vary by the project, as no two homes or businesses are exactly the same. Variables that may affect pricing include the number of windows and doors that need to be cleaned, window size, interior/exterior cleaning needs, and the ease of access (height and physical obstacles) for the windows, along with screen cleaning needs. RE-SCREENING VS REPLACEMENT?

Re-screening involves replacing the screen material within existing frames, as opposed to replacing the frame and screen together. If your frames are still in good condition, or you have an abnormal or unique window shape or size that is not as commercially available, this may be a good option. Replacement options may include prefabricated window screens or custom window screens, depending on your needs.

HOW MUCH DOES SCREEN REPAIR COST?

Window screen repair and screen cleaning are at least as important as window cleaning to maintain the beauty and functionality of your windows. Screen repair costs vary by the number and type of repairs needed. In circumstances where screens and/or frames are very old or have significant damage, full window screen replacement is the best option, while repair or re-screening may be appropriate in most other circumstances.
